Performed In-Office & Locally
Our counseling groups, held in-office and in real-world settings, offer a supportive space to practice socialization, boost confidence, and apply skills. Led by a trained therapist, these sessions help participants gain independence and support.
Join our therapist-led groups to build confidence, practice skills, and thrive!
Kids and Teens of Wake Forest, Join us in the Counseling Laboratory!
Our groups are a great way to practice socialization, increase self-confidence, practice your skills hands on in our laboratory or the “real” world, and become more independent. It’s essentially a social anxiety bootcamp led by a trained therapist!
Rapport building activities include baking & cooking in the lab, arts & crafts, drawing, and any other activity to support making a connection and engaging together.
Counseling laboratory work could include mock shopping, mock going out to a restaurant to order off a menu, a mock party, mock school situations/classroom, performing, or any other situation that supports decreasing social anxiety.
Field trips for teens could include going shopping together, attending a restaurant together to practice ordering off a menu and socializing outside of the counseling facility.
Our groups are action based and so much fun!
